GER: Simonetta Sommaruga (* 14. Mai 1960 in Sins, vollständiger Name Simonetta Myriam Sommaruga, heimatberechtigt in Lugano und Eggiwil) ist eine Schweizer Politikerin (SP). Seit November 2010 ist sie Vorsteherin des Eidgenössischen Justiz- und Polizeidepartements (EJPD).
Leben Sommaruga wuchs mit zwei Brüdern und einer Schwester in Sins, Kanton Aargau, auf. Sie besuchte das Gymnasium in Immensee, Kanton Schwyz, und schloss es mit der Matura ab. Anschliessend bildete sie sich in Luzern, Kalifornien und Rom zur Pianistin aus. Von 1988 bis 1991 studierte sie an der Universität Freiburg Anglistik und Romanistik.
